Following the lead of AKBAYAN National Chair Emeritus Rep. Etta Rosales, an appeal to the Commission on Elections was filed to disqualify alleged administration front patylist.  Invoking that the dubious backgrounds of the following partylist formation violates Republic Act 7941 or the Partylist Act. Moreover, citing the June 26, 2001 Supreme Court Decision in the case Ang Bagong Bayani OFW vs. COMELEC, et a, AKBAYAN invokes that no organization must be an adjunct of or a project organzed or an entity funded or assited by the government can run for the partylist elections.

1. Babae Ka! and Ang Kasangga  both allegedly linked with Malacañang Office of External Affairs.
2. Akbay Pinoy which is a member of Sigaw ng Bayan, the group that pushed the failed adminstration-backed bid for a people’s initiative to amend the Constitution.
3. Agbiag! led by Palace Secretary for External Affairs Marcelo Fariñas II acting as secretary general.
4. Ahon Pinoy, whose number one nominee is Dante “Klink” Ang, son of Dante Ang, Arroyo publicist and Chairman of theCommission of Filipino Overseas.
5. Aksyon Sambayanan, an alleged projject of National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales.
6. Biyaheng Pinoy, founded and chaired by Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Jesus Cruz, while Arsenio Abalos, elder brother of the COMELEC Chairman sits as Director and National Council Member.
7. Aangat Tayo, headed by the Philippine International Trading Corp., Executive Vice Preident Teddie Elson Rivera, who now sits as President.
8. Aangat ang Kabuhayan [ANAK] whose number one nominee, Eduardo Octivano, is reportedly a superitendent of the Philippine National Police National Capital Region Police Office.
9. KAKUSA is reportedly led by convicted rapist Romeo Jalosjos as its Chairman Emeritus.
10. Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy [ANAD] is reportedly choosing retired Major General Jovito Palparan to be one of its nominee.

Another dubious partylist is BANAT having Atty. Lambino of Sigaw ng Bayan as one of its nominee.

Furthermore, echoing our collective aspiration as marginalized sector we must never allow this misuse of the Partylist Act. We must defend our stake in governance by casting our protest against this misleading partylist formation aimed at sowing confusion to the people. We encourage a vote for genuine partylist not just for ourselves but for the future of the young people.
