Sa mga balitang pilit idinikit kay Pacman ay may ilang mga kinaaliwan ko ng husto. Una ay ang qourum ng mga tongressman sa laban ni Pacman. Kaya naman nanggagalaite ang mga kaparian, civil society at iba pa dahil ang daming dapat gawin sa kongreso eh walang mga “representatives” na bubuo ng qourum. Kaya naman thumbs up ako sa CBCP sa pagkastigo sa mga tongressman na asa US para sa laban ni Manny. Mas inuna pa ng mga damuhong ito ang humiyaw kesa sa CARPER na kailangan ng mga magsasaka.

Pangalawa, habang nagkakagulo ang buong mundo at natatakot sa AH1N1, walang takot na nangahas ang mga tongressman natin na pumunta sa US para sa laban ni Pacman. Kaya naman aliw na aliw ako sa interview ni Rep. Teddy Casino na halatang satirical ang pakunwaring concern na i-quaranteen ang mga tongressman na nanuod sa laban ni Pacquiao dahil mayroong natalang kaso ng “swine flu” sa Las Vegas.

Pangatlo, kinakastigo si Martin Nievera sa kanyang rendition ng Lupang Hinirang. Madaming nagalit at marami ding nagustuhan ang kanyang version. Sabi ng Historical Institute may batas daw na nalabag. Sabi ko naman, punta sila ng sinehan, hulihin nila lahat ng mga lumalabag sa pag-awit ng pambansang awit. Hindi rin ako fan ni Mr. Nievera pero tama lang na huwag siya humingi ng paumanhin para sa pag-awit at his best capacity. Sa aking palagay, tama si Rep. Risa Hontiveros ng AKBAYAN na dapat igalang ang creative rights ng mga artists o kahit ng sino pa man lalo na sa pagpapahayag ng damdaming makabayan.

Pangapat, walang pikit mata at kagatol-gatol na tatakbo si Manny Pacquiao sa Saranggani bilang congressman. You know? Walang makakaawat dahil sapok kay Manny ang kokontra. Pero malamang ma knock – out na naman si Manny kung may matinong alternatibo sa Saranggani. Kaya naman pala ang pakilala sa kanya ay …from the Province of Saranggani, Mannnnnyyyyy PACMAN Pacquiao (with the twang!) Ika nga ng isang kaibigan sa facebook, di nakapagtataka!

Panglima, hindi talaga ako pabor na tumakbo si Manny sa pulitika gaya ng marami pero hindi naman natin siya maawat at dahil karapatan nya rin iyon. Ang nakayayanig pa ay pagtatayo niya ng sariling local political party. Hmmm…dahil ba nadala na sa kiss of death ni PGMA? Kung iisipin, baka nga may tyansa si Manny manalo kung lalayo sya kay GMA? Abangan natin.

Ito ang classis na laro ng action, drama, comedy at pulitka. Madumi. Magulo. Nakakaaliw at nakakasuya. Period.

I wasn’t able to watch the fight but was informed earlier in the day that Pacquiao won by TKO on the second round. And every one in our compound was shouting with jubilation.

As usual everything halt and all eyes are glued on their televisions. There is nothing more to contest that Pacquaio was indeed one of the greatest boxer. And to top it all, he is a proud Pinoy.

With almost everything not going well for the country, his triumph was a fresh air for everyone. Something to be proud of.

Have to agree as well that his new song is way better than the other song he’s been singing.

(Nonetheless, I agree with some friends that Manny must not opt to meddle with politics again)

At this moment, lets enjoy and be proud to be Filipino.

It was only yesterday that I was able to read in passing the reports on Ma. Lourdes Arroyo’s election as Partylist representative. She is supposed to represent the entrepreneur sector like the balut vendors and other informal labors. The question is, does she even eats balot? Another Arroyo in Congress and it really sucks.

The PGMA Administration denied during the 2007 elections that they are manipulating the partylist elections.And what does the election of another Arroyo speaks of? A mere coincidence? I don’t think so.

While I have already expressed my disgust for (dis) Honorable Representative Jovito Palparan’s election as partylist representative, I am glad that the progressive bloc will campaign to disbar him from Congress.

The partylist system is supposed to provide opportunity for marginalized sectors as a means for participatory governance. Now, is Maria Lourdes Arroyo marginalized? Is a human rights violator marginalized? Again, I don’t think so.

So, do I still need to explain why the partylist system is bastardized?

Good news for the progressive blocs: AKBAYAN gained another seat and will be represented by Prof. Walden Bello (Honorable Representative Walden Bello. Sounds good enough! Of course Ka Walden can live up to the expectations.)

Moreover, the progressives will be welcoming another representative from Bayan Muna and one from Kabataan Party.

And the bad news, majority of the seats allocated by the Supreme Court will be occupied by pro-GMA partylists. Among them the number one human rights violator Jovito Palparan.

But what caught my attention (as well as of some friends) is the the conduct of the QCPD/PNP in handling this issue. Many have already been vocal in saying that the way Mr. Fialon is being man-handled as well as his wife’s relative and family helpers is a form of political vindetta. A retaliation for his and ABS-CBN’s critical stance against PGMA?

Some of my friends expressed their weary on how this thing is going, seeing it by their own eyes on the television. How the police are arrogantly push and arrested people in the name of obstructing justice. What ever happened to the Miranda Principle? Of being innocent until proven guilty?

Similarly, What the heck is PD 1829? Watching the news last night and hearing policemen invoking this will just leave you dumb founded! What the hell is that? What just happened? Are the police allowed to warrantlessly arrest suspects? I knew of some cases when they can do.  But why is warrantless arresst being done without clear reasons in this case?

A friend at Facebook was reminded of the PGMA’s Proclamation during the State of National Emergency fiasco in 2006 and Atty. Ted Te of FLAG was reminded of Marcos. In fact, PD 1829 was really a Marcos proclamation. And me, I was reminded that human rights should always be defended and staying silent on issues like this can be equated to condoning it.

My first task I remember for the campaign was to make a placard with the words “Junk VFA!.” Not really understanding the issue I followed the lead and made 10 pieces of it. I was even glad to see it spread in the LRT station at Taft Avenue.Attending the study circles let me understand why people are against the VFA.

Reading the papers today, Sen. Pangilinan’s expose/allegation on the peddling and pimping of women to U.S military is sickening.

Reminded me again why this VFA should be junked. It never sided on the people’s interest. Its a mere dole – out and muscle flex of US agenda with serious strings attached: disgracing our women and sovereignty of Pilipinas.

(Reading it was like listening to the jokers to tickle your funny bone but literally failed to.)

N.Gonzales: The country needs a three-year Transition President in 2010!

Claudio: N. Gonzales should not have made his opinion public…possibility of the opposition using it against the administration.

N.Gonzales: We need Charter Change but we will never get to doing it until we have a transition president who is willing to carry it out under a new political system.

Bello III: N. Gonzales suggestion of shortened term for the next President is legally infirm.

N. Gonzales: My proposal is not a legal framework and was not about change of leadership but about change of mind-set and attitude regarding the presidential election in 2010.

Claudio: The problem is that the suggestion and this concept of a transition gives rise to speculations that are very much unfair to the President.

(So, it’s all about the PGMA. Reprimanding a co-jester for making the queen frown?)

Claudio: N.Gonzales ideas is not a “trial baloon” from President Arroyo. It was not part of the Palace’s agenda and was certainly not the direction that the administration coalition would take in 2010.

(But this is the best line of this sick joke by the jokers in Malacanang. A comment from an administration Senator.)

Senator Zubiri: If they love President Arroyo and are pro-administration, they should not drag her into these Charter Change efforts and make the people mad at her.

Its April’s Fool indeed and the Palace sent out its best clowns. But as usual, failing to win even a faint smile from the people. I wonder where is Banana Man’s katukayo? Would have been more fun if he added his antics. LOL

Mr. Gonzales, do you know what dysfunctional means? Have you really thought of this before blurting out this advise? It’s like saying your boss is dysfunctional for she calls the shot right now.

To think of it, what the country need is, to be secured from your dubious advice and your kinds interests. Nothing is more dysfunctional than keeping your people in government along with PGMA.

Enough is enough. As what my friend says, Mr. Gonzales: Go F*** yourselves and spare us your bullshits.

Sinikap naming lahat na maging maganda ang buhay namin. Ayun, mga nasa Japan, Hongkong, Saudi ang mga anak ko. Yung iba nag – U.S, nag – Europe. Yung iba ayaw umalis sa akin. Halos lahat wala naman silbi, masaya sa piling ko, maski daw amoy usok ako.

Sa dami ng mga anak ko na nagsisikap na tulungan ang kalagayan namin, siya ding dami ng mga anak ko na nananamantala sa kabuhayan at kayamanan na itinabi ko para sa punyetang kinabukasan naming lahat. Dumating ang panahon na hindi na kami halos makaahon sa hirap ng buhay. Napakahirap dahil nasanay kami sa ginhawa at sarap.

Ang di ko inaakala ay mismong mga anak ko, ang tuluyang sisira sa akin. Napakasakit na tanggapin na malinlang. Akala ko ay makakakita ako ng magiging kasama sa buhay, sa mga ahas na pinakilala ng mga anak ko. Hindi pala. Ang tanga ko talaga. Binugaw ako ng mga sarili kong anak kapalit ng kwarta at pansamantalang ginhawa na nais nialng matamasa.

Wala na akong nagawa dahil sa sobrang pagmamahal ko sa aking mga anak. Wala akong ibang yaman kundi ang ganda ko. Pinagamit ko nalang ng pinagamit ang sarili ko, basta maginhawa lang ang mg anak ko.

Usap-usapan ako ng mga kapit-bahay ko. May nanghihinayang, namumuhi at naaawa. Puta na kasi ang isang magandang tulad ko.

Alam mo gusto ko na sana tumigil sa pagpuputa kaso ang laki talaga ng lesteng utang ko eh. Palaki pa ng palaki. Kulang na kulang. Paano na lang ang mga anak ko na naiwan sa aking poder? Baka di na ako balikan o bisitahin ng mga nag abroad kong anak. Hindi na importante kung laspagin man ang ganda ko, madama ko lang ang pagmamahal ng mga anak ko. Malaman nila na gagawin ko ang lahat para sa kanila.

Sa tuwing titingin ako sa salamin, alam ko maganda pa rin ako. Meron pa din ang bilib sa akin. Napag-uusapan pa din. Sa tuwing nakikita ko ang mukha ko sa salamin, nakikita ko ang mga anak ko. Tutulo na lang ang luha ko ng di ko namamalayan. Ang galing nga ng mga anak ko, namamayagpag kahit saan sila pumunta. Mahusay sa kahit anong gawain. Tama man o mali. Proud ako sa kanila. Kaso sila kabaligtaran ang nararamdaman para sa akin.

Sa dami ng anak ko iilan lang ang may malasakit sa akin. May malasakit man, nahihilaw. Di nga ako kinikilalang ina. Halos lahat sila galit sa isa’t – isa. Walang gustong magtulungan, naghihilahan pa. Ang dami ko nang pasakit na tiniis pero walang sasakit pa nun sarili kong mga anak ang nagbugaw sa akin. Kinapital ang laspag na ganda ko. Masyado silang nasanay sa sarap ng buhay. Minsan sa pagtingin ko sa salamin hindi ko na kilala ang sarili ko.

Dadating nanaman ang Pasko, sana maalala naman ako ng mga anak ko. Isang buwan pa magbabagong taon na, natatakot ako sa darating na taon. Ngayon pa lang usap-usapan na ang susunod na pagbubugaw ng ilan sa mga anak ko.

Sana may magtanggol naman sa akin, ipaglaban naman nila ako. Gusto kong isigaw: INA NINYO AKO! MAHALIN NYO NAMAN AKO!

Sige, drumadrama na ako. Masisira na make-up ko nito eh. Salamat ha, pinakinggan mo ako.

And it ruined my day. I was really appalled and revolted to read how the HOR is being transformed into nothing but PGMA’s number game.

Even if the Arroyo brothers are constantly cleaning their hands on this machination, their stench are all over it that denying can easily be equated to lying.

The arrogance of the older Arroyo in Congress speaks on how they use power. While Nograles and de Venecia are from the same deck of rotten crates, Mikey’s comment on how easily they can change the HOR leadership speaks again of their desperation and of their power hunger.
