Yesterday, I was ecstatic and happy that new brand of leaders are challenging the old political machinery. It raised the bar and standard making the elections something to look forward too. (Of course, that is if they really run.)

I actually accommodated the idea of Among Ed and Grace Padaca as viable options for the upcoming electoral contest. With the options we have last few months, it was like a new breath for us. A sign of hope for something better. Continue Reading »

Yesterday, I posted in my shout box at Facebook my weird feeling on the headlines of major news papers.

First, reading the full text of  the recantation of Suzette Nicolas, I felt sad that she gave in pressures and gave up on her fight and of the Filipino women as well. It’s really saddening.

Second, reading on the release of former Rep. Jalosjos from jail after conviction of raping an 11 years-old back in the 90’s. Learning that PGMA has hands on the shortening of his term sentence in jail, I feel dumb founded about it.

Coinciding the two news, it is very ironic that rape victims are pressured to shut up while convicted rapist (who is supposed to be serving  life time imprisonment) are “pardon” and set free.

Well, reality bites and social ironies bites harder!

Continue Reading »

Last February 12 to 16, I went to Casiguran, Aurora for a work related travel. We went there to attend a forum on  Human Rights and CARHRIHL. We were informed that a group of lawyer from Sentro ng Lingap Panligal (SALIGAN) will be there to give a legal case analysis but was clueless of the extent of the local issue.

The road to Casiguran was literally painstaking. The locals were telling us that it was better now but the experience is telling us otherwise. Come to think of it, for the decades that the Angara clan have cling to power, why is development for Casiguran evasive? There is an Angara in Senate, in the provincial government, in the city government and even in HOR. I was asking the locals if the SK is also an Angara, good thing s/he wasn’t. But definitely, an ally of the Angara. Talk about political dynasty! Continue Reading »

Starting Again

The wordpress looks new. It feels weird to be writing again and I think it will take time to familiarize again. (Or I’m just too luidite?)

It’s bee a while since I used this blog. It served as an advocacy tool and repository of personal agitations and weak opinions. Continue Reading »

Continue Reading »

noon at ngayon
